starting as soon as possible. The position is limited to 3 years.

Responsibilities and duties

Within collaborative research center 1227 “Designed quantum states of matter” (CRC 1227 DQ-mat), this position is dedicated to atom interferometry using ultra-cold ytterbium for precision measurements and tests of fundamental physics. To this end, a variety of experimental methods and state-of-the-art technologies in the fields of laser physics, analogue and digital electronics, control engineering, programming, magnetic field design, seismic isolation, etc. are conveyed and utilized.

Employment conditions

To qualify for the position, applicants must hold a scientific university degree (Master, Diploma, or equivalent) in physics or any related field. In addition, experience in atomic physics, laser physics, quantum optics, and/or gravitational physics is considered beneficial but not necessarily required. We require very good written and spoken English, initiative, the ability to work in teams, and the ability and willingness to familiarise oneself with new areas of work.
