Postdoctoral research position on quantum logic manipulation and detection of single (anti-)protons
We are seeking a postdoctoral researcher to demonstrate quantum logic inspired manipulation of single (anti-)protons through single trapped atomic ions for precision measurements. The direct motivation for this research is that a comparison between the (anti-)proton and proton magnetic moments provides a sensitive test of CPT invariance. Frederik Jacobs has joined the Hannover ion trappers as a bachelor student. For his bachelor thesis he will work on the simulation of magnetic fields originating from an ion trap setup with permanent magnets. The setup will enable for the realization of longlived qubit states in the surface paul trap.
