Research

POLAR

This project aims at the creation of a quantum degenerate gas of dipolar NaK molecules and the experimental investigation of collisional processes in the quantum gas of molecules and the study of strongly correlated many-body system of dipolar molecules in optical lattices. The experimental pathway for ground state molecule creation will start from a two species mixture of Na and K. Na and K will subsequently be associated into ultracold Feshbach molecules in the vicinity of a Feshbach resonance and then transferred to the rovibrational ground state by means of a two-photon coherent transfer process.
