Molecular Quantum Gases
Welcome to our group! Our research focuses on the preparation and study of molecular gases at record-low temperatures of a few hundred Nanokelvin above absolute zero. It is at such low temperatures that quantum mechanics and quantum statistics determines the collective behaviour of the molecular samples. At these low temperatures, molecular gases offer completely new perspectives as novel quantum many-body systems with a complex and interesting dipolar interaction, as highly controllable systems for the study of chemical processes at the quantum limit and as objects for precision measurements.
